Detoxification 101

YOUR BODYS NATURAL DETOXIFICATION SYSTEMS

Our bodies are much wiser than we know, and it’s actually detoxing on it’s own day and night through pee, poop & sweat. So you don’t have to “do” anything. Your liver is like the CEO of detoxification, but your kidneys, lungs, colon & skin are like her personal assistants.

HOW MANY TOXINS ARE TOO MANY TOXINS?

Your body has the ability to deal with some toxins. That’s what the organs we just mentioned help to handle. But when we are bombarded by too many toxins (more on that in a second), this so-called “body burden" can get to be too much. When that burden gets a little too heavy on your detox-organs, we see hormones, energy, metabolism, mood, skin etc. really suffer. Everyone’s “body burden” looks different, but there are some things to watch out for…

THE TOXINS TO WATCH OUT FOR

We don’t mean to scare you, but there are toxins in a lot of places in our daily lives. Our bodies are dealing with toxins from plastics, pollution, pesticides, processed food & alcohol, and body products… and we should mention that stress also acts as a toxin too. EEK! Our goal is really to control the small places we can. Can you switch to a reusable water bottle and ditch plastic bottles? Can you upgrade your body products to things without phthalates or fragrances? Can you clean up your diet? <— we’re here to help on that one!

DO YOU NEED A FULL ON DETOX?

We can absolutely support our body’s natural detoxification and decrease our body burden in a big way, just by cleaning up our food & drinks! We don’t think you need a boatload of supplements or products, or a full on cleanse or fast. And Spring is a great time for a week of super healthy eating and giving your liver some love.
