lymphatic drainage massage
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is an excellent treatment for swelling, puffiness, chronic illness, digestive issues, allergies and more.
-
Lymphatic drainage massage is a therapeutic technique that focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system, which is responsible for eliminating waste products, toxins, and excess fluid from the body. The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in maintaining immune function and overall health.
During a lymphatic drainage massage, a trained therapist uses gentle, rhythmic motions to promote the flow of lymph fluid throughout the body. This technique involves light pressure and specific hand movements that encourage lymphatic vessels to contract and drain accumulated fluid. The massage typically follows the natural pathways of the lymphatic system, which are located just beneath the skin.
-
Treatments use very light, stroking pressure on dry skin to stimulate lymphatic movement. May also be done over clothing.

arvigo abdominal therapy®
Abdominal therapy has been used by many cultures over centuriesto support the restoration of the body and being to a state of wholeness.
-
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® was developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo as a result of her long term apprenticeship with the late Maya H’Men (Doctor-Priest), Don Elijio Panti of Belize.
It brings together bodywork, traditional remedies, herbal knowledge and spiritual healing to support the restoration of the body and being to a state of wholeness - where the chu’lel (a Maya word for life force energy) can flow freely.
This work restores balance by rectifying biomechanical integrity. In this way, it can be supportive to many reproductive, digestive and structural concerns including infertility, menstrual conditions, fibroids, endometriosis, GERD, IBS, Crohn’s disease, adhesions, scarring, constipation, chronic fatigue, migraines and chronic pain. Abdominal massage also strengthens the ligaments that support the uterus and realigns other pelvic organs so the body can return to its innate rhythm and natural state of health. -
Treatments are gentle and relaxing and often promote great healing shifts. The massage is typically done on the skin with healing oils on the abdomen between the pubic bone and ribs, but can also be performed over the clothes.
The Arvigo® training adds one more facet to our healing modalities and is a wonderful bridge between our acupuncture and pelvic health physical therapy offerings. While we don’t recommend combining acupuncture and abdominal therapy on the same day, our women’s health and digestive health patients find the combination of services have a powerful effect when alternated during a course of treatment.
For menstruating people, the first visit should be booked for the few days after bleeding stops.

Kiah Liotta is a Licensed Massage Therapist, P-DTR practitioner and Professional Dancer. Being trained from a young age as a dancer in high level programs, she learned a lot about the body. Kiah started seeing Therapists to help with her injuries and body alignment in her teenage years, and was instantly inspired and curious to learn more.
She began a journey of self study and exploration of biomechanics to help her maintain optimal function as a performer and athlete. She then decided to attend Massage school at the Cortiva institute of Massage Therapy in Cromwell CT, so she could help others in their journeys to living with physical ease.
Kiah’s training in P-DTR (Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex Therapy) enables her to have an understanding of root issues in the body from a neurological view point. She uses her training in advanced reflexive muscle testing to help get an accurate assessment of how muscles are functioning to best approach treatment sessions.
Kiah empathizes in how chronic pain, injuries or even small aches can strongly affect how we show up in our daily lives. Whether it’s discomfort in your back standing in line at the grocery store, or an old injury holding you back from doing activities you love.
Kiah passionately infuses her philosophies of holistic health to support her sessions, so massages are more than a “relaxing experience” or a “quick fix”. Instead they are a means to whole body-wellness.
-
As a Massage Therapist, Kiah’s style is often described as focused and systematic, targeting specific muscles that are related to your specific body composition and challenges. While still maintaining a relaxing flow, her approach involves techniques such as; deep friction and glides, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and myoskeletal alignment.
