Acupressure DIY

You can use acupressure at home to get a better idea of how it works and to supplement your acupuncture sessions between visits. You’ll find some acupressure points to help alleviate specific issues located in part two. A great all-around point to use is Yin Tang, a point located right above the bridge of the nose between the eyebrows. This point helps calm the spirit. Try a bit of acupressure by using the following instructions on this point.

First, get in a comfortable seated position. Like acupuncture, acupressure also works best if you can relax and turn your mind away from any stressors. Take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. With your fingertips, apply moderate pressure to the point for 60 to 90 seconds, using circular motions. Focus on your breathing while applying pressure; deep breaths help reduce pain and stress. Allow your exhale to be slightly longer than your inhale, which helps your body relax more deeply. Repeat acupuncture points on both sides of the body. Use as often as needed!
