Does Acupuncture Hurt?

“Does acupuncture hurt?” Nope!

“I hate needles!” - Yes, us too.

Needles used for blood draws or injections can hurt. When the goal is to draw blood, or to inject a foreign substance, the tissues will be disrupted and your pain receptors will be activated. Usually, the pain is brief, but still it’s no fun!

Acupuncture needless are different. They are hair thin, single strand needles that are intended too send signals to the body. Yes, you’ll feel them, but no, it won’t feel like an injection (in fact, people come to like the sentsation of Qi activation!)

Acupuncture can stimulate the synthesis and release of our feel-good neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which contribute to the very chill feeling most people experience during and after a treatment.
