Acupuncture - What can it treat?
People come in for acupuncture for a variety of reasons, but often as a “last resort”. The true beauty of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is that it can truly treat SO many issues and our hope is that our patients come to understand that acupuncture can be preventative and also help treat issues in their early stages. At our clinics in Westport and Stamford, CT, we see people daily for a variety of issues including: fertility, pregnancy support, insomnia, anxiety, migraines, back/neck/shoulder pain, digestive issues, long-haul COVID, fatigue and more. We strive to become partners in your health and wellness and pride ourselves in feeling more like friends than like doctors.
Acupuncture is just one branch of Chinese Medicine, so you might find that our acupuncturists also advise in diet and lifestyle and can help you set and achieve a variety of wellness goals. Our providers are trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, a modern style of CM that is based on an organ theory of the body. This style focuses on rebalancing of yin and yang to keep qi moving properly through the body. We are happy to walk you through what we’re thinking and how we’re planning to treat when you come in for a session. If you just want to let us do our thing while you zone out, that’s cool, too!
Our providers are also well versed in conventional biomedicine, and while they can’t diagnose or prescribe, they are able to understand most modern diseases through a Chinese Medicine lens. As a collaborative practice, our providers often work together to create a comprehensive plan for your health, so many of our patients see an acupuncturist, massage therapist and nutritionist concurrently, while some prefer to stick with one treatment.
At Indigo, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healthcare, which is why your initial intake will give you the opportunity to tell your full story and work with your provider to come up with a treatment plan that works for you.
