“But I Hate Needles!”
Yes, us too. 😩 Needles used for blood draws or injections hurt. When the goal is to draw blood, or to inject a foreign substance, the tissue will be disrupted and your pain receptors will be activated. Usually the pain is brief, but still it’s no fun! Acupuncture needles are different. They are hair thin, single strand needles that are intended to send signals to the body. Yes, you’ll feel them, but no, it won’t feel like an injection (in fact, many people come to like the sensation of Qi activation!).
On the bottom of the above needle picture is an “ultra fine” lancet; one of the smallest available for finger pricks. It’s more than twice as wide as the acupuncture needles above it!
