Winner Winner, Early Bird Dinner
You may have heard of intermittent fasting. TBH, we’re not fans of strict intermittent fasting for most women because it can effect hormones and potentially future fertility, but there is one note we can absolutely take from it!
Early dinners reign queen at Indigo. From a health and weight perspective, we don’t want to be digesting while we sleep. Digestion takes up a whole lot of energy. A lot of other important processes happen while we sleep, like your brain’s street cleaning system (called the glymphatic system) and immune & hormonal recalibration, and digestion takes the focus away from these other processes.
Research shows that having dinner at least 2 hrs before bed is optimal for health, energy & weight, but you can squish that even earlier and go for 3+ hours food free before bed. This means if you go to bed around 10pm, aim to close the kitchen by 7pm. See if you notice any changes in your sleep, energy or mood the next day!
Try having a winner winner early bird dinner 2-3x a week.
