Sugar Cravings

Today, Indigo Nutritionist Carolyn Brown is talking about sweets!

I'm sure you have some extra sweets hanging around the house, but did you know...

1. Overeating sugar really has nothing to do with willpower. If you let yourself get too hungry, it’s instinctual to go for something with sugar because it gives us fast energy. But the more sweets you eat, the more you crave - so it can keep you in a hamster wheel of sugar cravings!

2. If you feel like you’re always craving sugar, you might have a little imbalance in your microbiome, and a good quality probiotic can really help.

3. You can re-write your tastebuds and cravings pretty quickly! First, see where you’re having sugar throughout your day: in your coffee, breakfast, after lunch, snack, and after dinner? Don’t freak out, but do aim for only one ‘sweet spot’ per day.

4. Be sure to check out the other ingredients in your favorite sweet treat. I especially want you to steer clear from all artificial dyes, sweeteners, and flavors.

PS if your sugar cravings are all about chocolate, it's a possible sign of magnesium deficiency!
