Let’s Talk Eggs

No, not the Sunday brunch type (but, yum!). We’re talking the type that leads to healthy, happy, baby (human) chicks! 🐣🐤 👶🏻 Yes, it’s true that we are born with all the eggs (follicles, actually) we will ever have, and yes, it’s true that egg quantity and quality decline with age, but it’s also true that there’s a lot  we can do to improve the quality of our eggs, which leads to better pregnancy outcomes and healthier babes.

Here’s the deal: “Folliculogenesis” aka the recruitment of a follicle and its development into the mature egg that is released when we ovulate can take up to a whole year! The three months before an egg becomes the star of the ovulation show are most crucial and there’s a lot you can do to promote healthy egg development during this time! FYI: acupuncture helps stimulate blood flow to the ovaries which supports healthy, normal eggs and (spoiler alert!) what you eat really does matter.
