headache helpers

Headaches have been trending in our offices. Whether it's hormones, seasonal changes, stress, or dehydration, our team has you covered with headache helpers.

There's nothing worse than a headache or migraine to throw off your day or week. We've asked out team for their input on what can help. Here are our top recommendations of headache products & services to get you feeling better, fast.

1. CranioSacral Therapy is an effective, safe, and non-invasive therapy that can help with pain relief for migraines, tension headaches, TMJ and concussion-related headaches. With a gentle touch, a CranioSacral session facilitates subtle but profound shifts to the central nervous system (think brain and spinal cord). This releases tension all over the body, including the muscles and bones in the head and neck. Book an Energy Healing session with Aly, which includes CranioSacral Therapy.

2. Enfleurage Headache Helper Essential Oil: Our favorite headache blend includes peppermint, lavender, chamomile, marjoram and others. Great for ambient use, in a diffuser, vaporizer, or just a quick drop in the hands and breathe it in.

3. The Indiglow Facial: Through reflexology, facial massage and gua sha, the Indiglow facial calms the nervous system and  releases muscle tension in the head, jaw and neck, promoting relaxation, improving circulation and helping to both ease and prevent headache pain. Book your facial with Kelly here.

4. Zyflamend by New Chapter: We call this supplement "nature's advil". Made with anti-inflammatory ingredients like turmeric, we recommend keeping a bottle of Zyflamend on hand for headaches and pms symptoms - or both.

5. Our acupuncturists will ask you lots of questions about your headache including the location, quality of pain, and what makes it better or worse. They’ll use all of these clues to determine what channels are involved and come up with a treatment plan based on your specific needs. Book an acupuncture session in Stamford or Westport.

6. Magnesium for migraines: magnesium has been found to prevent migraines as much as migraine medicine, and without any adverse side effects. We love this Ned blend for before bed.

7. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! If you have a killer headache, our nutritionists want to know if you've drank any water yet today.

8. Skip screens: is it a migraine out of the blue, or have you been staring at screens all day? Get outside and take a screen break, we bet your brain will thank you.
